Local veterans’ home renovated with help from L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity and The Home Depot Foundation

Lewiston, ID – L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity will work alongside several local Army veteran families to improve their home through Habitat for Humanity’s Repair Corps. Funded by The Home Depot Foundation, Repair Corps has helped build or improve the homes and lives of over 1,800 U.S. military veterans and their family members through critical home repairs.

“According to the Housing Assistance Council, over 90,000 Washington veterans live in homes with one or more major problems,” said Deb Snyder, Executive Director. “With The Home Depot Foundation’s help, we’re able to make a difference in one of those lives through Repair Corps.”

The two repair projects are located in Clarkston, Washington. We are excited to partner with employees from our local Home Depot and subcontractors to complete these project. We look forward to working with the Home Depot Foundation on future home repairs for local qualified veterans. In 2022, 100+ local Habitat organizations are slated to build or repair a target of 200 veteran households across the U.S.

About L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity

Our local affiliate first started in 1991 with a focus on building and renovating simple affordable housing for the residents of Nez Perce and Asotin counties. To date, with the help of our valued community partners, generous contributions from donors, and countless hours of volunteer labor on home builds, we have been fortunate enough to construct 35 homes here in the LC Valley and are in the process of building our 36th Habitat affordable home. In 2023, L-C Valley Habitat has partnered with the city of Clarkston to complete nearly 20 critical home repairs. We truly believe that our work is part of a greater community-wide effort to improve the place we all call home. L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, faith-based organization devoted to changing lives through the practice of “giving people a hand up, not a hand out.”
