One of our many recent projects was with Lydia, who qualified for our program in 2024. HFH was able to complete many of the much-needed tasks such as:
New Roof & Gutters, re-wiring for electrical, house paint, new windows, kitchen remodel with newer appliances, bathroom remodel and new ventilation.
How did you learn about the program?
Lydia: “I went to pay my garbage bill at the city hall and I saw a business card for the Habitat Program with A QR code saying they do Home Repairs for low income families, so I instantly applied.”
What is your favorite improvement?
Lydia: “The new roof, Kitchen remodel and the bathroom remodel. I am extremely grateful for the work that has been done and forever thankful for Brian’s attention to detail to make sure everything was done correctly.”
What would you tell others about CAHR?
Lydia: “If someone is thinking about applying, I say DO IT without hesitation. Everyone that I worked with was extremely kind, caring and knowledgeable and truly did everything they could to make our home safe and livable for years to come.”

One of our many recent projects was with Ms. Isaac who qualified for our program in 2024. She had heard about it from a friend that suggested the program. She decided to apply due to her water grade sloping towards her home creating flood damage and hazards, rotting out siding and joists + her clay sewer line and water lines were fractured.
Habitat for Humanity was able to complete all of the much-needed tasks such as: Excavation for drainage to move water to a dry well and slope the existing landscape away from the home to avoid any additional damage. Removal of paving bricks, electric work, fill in pond, replace sewer lines from the home to the street and create a French drain system.
Ms. Isaacs favorite upgrade is that “It helped with maintenance of the yard as well as the worry of water damage in the future, which is huge!” She is “Very Happy” and feels that working with this group was a great experience.

One of our many recent projects was with Ms. Weber who qualified for our program in 2024 after a purchase had gone wrong with a home that was far from Habitable, with an estimated repair cost of $61k!
Habitat for Humanity was able to complete all of the much needed tasks such as:
All NEW: walls, floors, kitchen, cabinets, bathroom, bedrooms, wiring/electrical, insulation, central heating and air, lighting, ventilation, windows, doors and outdoor patio steps.
Ms. Weber heard about this program through conversations with her mom who was on City Council at the time. She did not think that she could qualify for the program but decided to try it out anyhow. She said: “Even if you think you are over the approved income level, if you never try, you’ll never know!”
Ms. Weber’s favorite upgrade is the new windows, insulation and … THE ENTIRE HOME. She can’t thank HfH enough and is so grateful that she doesn’t have to worry about falling through her own home’s floor. She loves the central heat and air, plus she noted it is saving her $100 month now on the electrical bills.
